Rooftop Honey
City Gardens is excited to have Melbourne Rooftop Honey installing honey hives on C Block roof in the coming week. This great joint initiative with City of Melbourne helps dwindling urban bee populations move around and pollinate local flora, increasing flower and fruit production. Plus the added ‘sweet’ benefit is the production of some local honey for City Gardens. Watch this space for dates of an upcoming information session in early December for residents to learn more!
Worm Farms Hit ‘Peak Worm’
It’s summer and the worms are going crazy! The worm farms have proved popular with residents, are cutting down food waste in bins and providing nutrient for the garden. Learn more at the Worm Farm Info Session on Saturday 20th Feb @ 11am, Plane Tree Way rubbish corral (near end of C block). Or bring some vegie scraps/tea/coffee along any time to feed the worms! Keep an old tupperware on your kitchen sink for scraps and put them to good use! See our famous worms featured in the December issue of City of Melbourne magazine p17.
ABC Windows Replacement Update
Many A, B & C block owners and tenants will have received a letter regarding their replacement windows as part of Stage 3. Installation of Stage 3 will commence in early December. Stage 4a installation is currently slated for February. Stage 4b will include the remaining windows to be completed as soon as possible after February. Thanks to tenants for their patience with providing access where required, and for putting up with the temporary make-safe arrangements.
